Rules

These rules apply to all OWOmaha spaces including the Discord server, Telegram chat, meet-ups, etc.

1. NSFW & Triggering Content

OWOmaha is an all-ages space. All content and conversations should be kept PG-13.

If something is triggering or making you uncomfortable, please step up and say, "This is triggering/making me uncomfortable; please add a CW and spoiler."

If you are uncomfortable speaking up in chat, please make a “Moderation” #help-ticket. We are approachable and understanding, and want everyone to feel comfortable and safe while in OWOmaha!

Here are guidelines of what topics and conversations are and are NOT permitted in OWOmaha spaces:

• PG-13 Topics

• Swearing (non-excessively, untargeted)

• Identity Discussions  |  Discussions including sexuality, gender, race, and culture (keep it polite and family-friendly)

2. Respectfulness & Common Courtesy

Be respectful of everyone! If messaging in Discord, please do your best to use the correct channels.

Debating must be calm, SFW, and follow our rules. Aggressive debates must be kept to DMs and private conversations.

4. Solicitation & Advertisements

OWOmaha and its Volunteer teams are not liable for any breach of contract or legal issues that may arise from commissions or sales of tangible goods made in the group. Purchases and sales are done at buyer and seller discretion. OWOmaha will not mediate or take claim for any sales made in the group and mediation for this must and will be done outside of official meet-ups and chats. Understanding and compliance of local regulations and laws are assumed by the buyer and/or seller. OWOmaha will not be liable for any breach of these laws or regulations.

By taking part in commissions or sales as either a buyer or seller, you acknowledge that you've read and understand these terms.

Advertisements are limited to two posts per person, per week. Ads may only lead to SFW sites. Linking sites that contain NSFW content is not permitted.

8. Flirtatious/Sexually Charged Behavior

Flirtatious and sexually charged behavior is not permitted. Harassing other members is not permitted. If we find you are behaving flirtatiously or sexually toward someone who is under 18, you will be banned and met with zero tolerance.

General Operations Volunteers have final say on any issues that are not addressed in the rules.

1. Vaccinations & Illnesses

Being up to date on all vaccinations is highly encouraged. Sharing of food and drinks will be treated as a personal preference and we ask that you do so at your own risk.

If you are currently experiencing any illnesses or symptoms of illnesses, you are not permitted to attend meet-ups in order to prevent the spread of infection.

2. Age Restrictions

Members under 16 may attend our meet-ups under the following conditions:

• An 18+ parent, guardian, or chaperone must RSVP for them.

• They must be accompanied by an 18+ parent, guardian, or chaperone at all times during the meet-up.

• They must have a ride from an 18+ parent, guardian, or chaperone both to and from the meet-up and cannot get a ride from someone else in the group.

Please note that OWOmaha will occasionally host 18+ or 21+ meet-ups, where those under 18 or 21 are not permitted to attend due to the venue, or alcohol being present. These meet-ups still abide by OWOmaha’s rules and guidelines.

3. Pets & Service Animals

All animals must be approved via #help-ticket or email from us at owomaha@gmail.com before you are permitted to bring them to a meet-up. Please note that select venues may only allow service dogs that assist people with physical disabilities due to Nebraska’s laws.

All animals must be trained adequately in the following ways in order to be approved:

• The animal will not go after food

• The animal is not aggressive or reactive, especially towards fursuiters

• The animal is potty trained

• The animal can be recalled in areas that are off-leash

4. Respect

Our OWOmaha Rules (see top of page) apply at all meet-ups. Please be respectful of other attendees, treat venues with respect, and clean up after yourself!

5. Fursuits

Fursuit policies vary depending on the nature and venue of meet-ups. Please check the Meet-Up Calendar to view fursuit policies for individual meet-ups.

6. Alcohol

Alcohol may be present at select venues. If alcohol will be present at a meet-up, we will specify so in the calendar page on our website.

Consumption of alcohol at a meet-up is:

• limited to two drinks per person

• only permitted at venues that serve alcohol

• only permitted if you are 21+

7. Drugs

The use of recreational marijauna, Delta-8/9, chewing tobacco, or any other illicit drug is not permitted at any OWOmaha meet-up. Vaping and smoking is permitted at venues that allow it but it must be done away from the group’s location.

8. RSVP

• RSVPing is required for meet-ups on our calendar that have a ⭐. To RSVP, scroll down to the bottom of the calendar page and fill out the Google Form.

• If you must change what you'll be bringing to a grill-out or potluck, or you can no longer attend a meet-up, you must let us know ASAP by emailing us at owomaha@gmail.com or by making a #help-ticket.

• Attendees 10 and under are not required to pay OWOmaha-assigned entry fees.

• Members are encouraged to RSVP as soon as the calendar is released.

Closing RSVPS: RSVPs may close prior to a meet-up at the discretion of the hosting Volunteers. This is to ensure hosting volunteers have adequate time to prepare for the meet-up. 

Item & Entry Fee Exceptions: OWOmaha may make exceptions for bringing an item or paying OWOmaha-assigned entry fees in the following cases. If you fall under one of these exceptions, simply let us know by making a #help-ticket or emailing us at owomaha@gmail.com.

• If you cannot afford to bring an item for a potluck or grill-out

• If you cannot afford to pay the OWOmaha-assigned entry fee

• If you are bringing your own food to eat to a potluck or grill-out

• If you will not be eating at a potluck or grill-out

• If you are an OWOmaha member's plus-one or first-time guest attendee

9. Allergies

OWOmaha does not take any responsibility for allergic reactions that occur at our meet-ups.

Nuts in any way, shape, or form are strictly prohibited from OWOmaha meet-ups.

Due to allergies, items that are homemade or outside of their original packaging require a full ingredients list. You will be asked to write down the ingredients of your item if you do not provide a list. If you do not know the ingredients, we will ask you to take the item back to your vehicle. If you have a severe allergy (life-threatening when in contact/near), please email us or make a #help-ticket and we will make sure items containing it are not brought to the meet-up.

• Mild Suggestive Art  |  Ex. suggestive pose, minimal clothing, etc. (permitted only in 18+ spaces)

• Mild Gore or Blood  |  Ex. small wounds, decorative blood, etc.

• Imagery of Weapons or Guns

2. Utilizing the Art of Others

Using others’ art (i.e. tracing, inspiration, background use, etc.) is permitted and is a great learning tool. However, credit to the original artist is required by sharing, at minimum, the artist’s username, the artist’s social media page, or the source of the art.

🔴Posting "art" made by Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) is NOT permitted, regardless of who generated the image.

4. Critique

Remember to be kind, patient, and positive when critiquing someone’s art! Blatant insults to art is not permitted and will be considered harassment.

🟢 Critique MUST be:

• Explicitly Asked For

• Helpful in Nature  |  i.e. "I think the piece would benefit from darker shading," is helpful feedback

• Precise  |  i.e. "Using a color for shading instead of black could help the piece pop more!”

🔴 Critique CANNOT be:

• Unsolicited/Not Asked For

• Unhelpful  |  i.e. "That doesn't look right," is not helpful feedback

• Insulting/Use Harsh Words  |  i.e. “The colors look horrible”

🟢 Posting Others’ Art is Permitted but must have:

• Permission From The Artist in Accordance with their Terms of Service

• Follows The OWOmaha General & Art Rules  |  ex. no nsfw, gore, etc.

🔴 Please do NOT share others’ art if they do not want it shared!
